Thanks to the support of our guests, we are now entering our 3rd year of operations under the ownership of John and Lori Sarya.
In our second
year, we expanded our dinner menu to include full dinners, not
just seafood but also chicken, ribs, steak, pulled pork and beef
brisket. Those
dinners were served with the “vegetable of season” and either a
baked potato, home-made BBQ beans, or home-made coleslaw.
It was a big success and will again gain a great amount
of our attention for 2010.
We want to continually improve our food service.
Last summer, we actually had several rib and crab dinners
served as late as 2:30am for those real late arrivals.
We added a new party patio area between the
main building and the pool/spa area.
This proved to be one of the most desired areas for
people to just sit and relax, watch the boats, and enjoy a lunch
or dinner. As we
kept it covered with a tent most of the time, it was also a
great place to sit on those hot summer days to get out of the
sun.
In our pool area we purchased all new lounge
chairs and patio table top umbrellas.
Guests were very happy with the nicer lounge chairs and
patio table arrangements.
Late in the 2009 season, we added our own ice
maker so that we can offer bulk ice to our guests at a reduced
rate from bagged ice we previously purchased.
This doesn’t seem big, but almost every guest buys ice
for their coolers and beverages.
This makes it a bit more convenient as we will even
deliver it directly to you at the boat.
For 2010, we are looking at adding “wraps” to
our menu as well as expanding our food preparation/deli area to
better serve larger numbers of guests at the same time.
We are not anticipating any large changes in the patio or pool areas in 2010.
Our fuel will remain a “premium” blend of gas
and diesel. This is
necessary to avoid using fuel with ethanol blends.
As the blended fuel can be bad for some of the older
boats, we prefer to keep our fuel as pure as possible.
Our tanks are inspected at least once every year and
tested for bacteria.
To-date, we have had 100% clean results from those tests.
It was indicated to us that this is not common, but the
best you can obtain.
We have good fuel at good prices.
For bulk orders of 1000 gallons or more, it is suggested
to phone ahead to inform us of your need.
For larger vessels, we can also have the tankers drop
direct from the tanker to the vessel.
This requires larger purchases, but works well for the
vessels in the 100’+ range. Whatever your needs, we can
accommodate them.
Just ask.
Our ship store grew a bit last year by adding
our “I got some tail at Jacobson Marina Resort” shirts and hats,
JMR vests, and JMR jackets.
We look to grow the clothing line.
Any suggestions for products to be added are always
welcomed.
As our first two years were very challenging
but rewarding, we are looking at 2010 being the best of our 3
years of ownership.
As all of our guests are like family to us, it is very fun and
rewarding to have a family that continues to grow together. Let
us know what we can do to make your visit unique and the best
possible.
Thanks again for your past support and we look
forward to seeing you in 2010.
Sincerely, John and Lori Sarya
Jacobson Marina Resort is a 49-slip deep water marina, located in Frankfort, Michigan on the beautiful East Coast of Lake Michigan. The marina consists of thirty-five 45' slips, fourteen 60' slips, and a 2400 square foot clubhouse. The clubhouse houses shower and laundry facilities, the marina offices, a ship's store, deli, kitchen, and Great Room for our guests' enjoyment. The entire marina encompasses nearly four acres.
We constantly strive to improve our offerings of products and services. Currently we offer:
The marina is one short block off of Frankfort's main business district. Shops, restaurants, a pharmacy, hardware store, variety store, supermarket, public Lake Michigan beach, and much more are all located within a few short blocks of the marina.
When you arrive at the Marina, you will immediately notice first class service beginning with the landing of your boat all the way thru your departure. Our dock-hands are trained specifically to provide for your needs in all ways. It is our goal that in the event you decide to never leave your boat, you can still experience the service and experience of a great time for many days. If you do leave your boat, just a few steps away you may enjoy the pool and hot tub, and have the dock-hands bring your food to poolside. You can shop in the Ship's Store for your home, for loved ones, or to just bring something back to those who could not join you. Looking for something a little less active? Take a stroll over to the Peninsula and enjoy a beverage of your choice while watching the sunset.
